AI workflow automation is the practice of connecting business processes, systems, and decision points so repeatable work can move with less manual effort. It combines process design, APIs, data transformation, validation, and carefully bounded AI actions.
This lab focuses on making automation reliable enough for another person to inspect and improve. You learn to choose the right process, define ownership and handoffs, handle failure paths, and document the workflow without treating a tool or a single vendor as the skill.
Most automation fails because the process was never mapped or the systems were never connected properly. You learn to start with triggers, systems, API requests, webhook events, decisions, and exceptions, then add AI where it actually helps.
Your first brief starts with a support queue that is losing requests between email, CRM, and Slack. You map the current flow, identify the breakpoints, authenticate the API calls, and decide where automation helps without removing human judgment. The resulting workflow map and test plan show how the system should behave before anyone builds it.
